Procopius, of Gaza (Procopius Gazaeus) (c. 465-528 A.D.):
For He gave to His disciples the image or figure, or type of His own body, no longer admitting and receiving the bloody sacrifices of the Law. By the whiteness of the teeth, therefore, he denoted the purity of the mystical bread by which we are nourished. (J. P.
