Q. Did Haymo advocate the Roman dogma of transubstantiation?

Haymo, Bishop of Halberstadt (c. ? - 853 A.D.):

That thing is no sign, of which the sign is, nor is anything called a sign of itself, but of another thing. And in general every sign, so far as it is perceived to be a sign, is different from that which it signifies. (J. P.
